ARTZ® is the world's first joint function improving agent whose main ingredient is hyaluronic acid. It was developed based on the knowledge that hyaluronic acid is an important component of joint fluid. The ophthalmic surgical aid OPEGAN® was the first hyaluronic acid formulation produced in Japan. As hyaluronic acid has a high level of viscoelasticity, it is used primarily in cataract surgery to anterior chamber expansion. It also protects the corneal endothelium.
OPEGAN Hi® achieves a higher level of viscoelasticity by using hyaluronic acid with a greater molecular weight than in the original OPEGAN.
We offer four products in different quantities and levels of viscoelasticity in order to allow physicians to select the product that best meets their needs.
